Isn’t funny how the name Hussein was a liability prior to his election and now he wears it as a badge of honor especially when kissing up with the leaders of the Middle East.

Some of his accompolishment in the first 10 days.

1. Lifted the federal funding restriction for abortions performed in foreign countries. I wonder if the people of these countries, not the governments, will see this as a humanitarian act .

2. Signed executive order to close Guantanamo. Terrorists with no place to go.

3. The Obama administration has asked the military's Joint Chiefs of Staff to cut the Pentagon's budget request for the fiscal year 2010 by more than 10 percent -- about $55 billion. Interesting considering the countries high unemployment and the fact that he wants to move terrorists from Gitmo. Does he perfer people on the dole with obligation to vote Democrat?

4. Hillary Rodham Clinton became Secretary of State in spite of being married to an Impeached President who receives much of his income from leaders of foreign countries.

5. Timothy Geithner becomes Treasury Secretary in spite of being fined for not paying all of his own income tax and for hiring an illegal domestic.

6. Tom Daschle, is picked by Obama to reside over the nation's healthcare system, in spite of his own improper tax filings and unclaimed income and the fact that he received $220,000 in speaking fees from health care groups with an interest in the work he would do once confirmed as health chief, Politico.com reported Saturday.

7. Obama seeks a completely Democrat government by nominating Republican Sen. Judd Gregg of New Hampshire to become commerce secretary. Gregg's appointment to the post could give Obama and his Democratic Party another seat in the Senate, clearing the way for them to pass legislation without fear of a Republican filibuster. New Hampshire has a Democrat Govenor charged with selecting Gregg’s replacement.

8. President Obama said it was "the height of irresponsibility" for financial corporations to have doled out $18 billion in bonuses to their employees in a year when many banks shed jobs and turned to the government for funds. Even while Nancy Pelosi pushed Obama’s economic recovery plan, full of liberal crony pork, through the House without a single Republican vote.

9. Mr. Obama intends to adopt a tougher line toward Hamid Karzai, the Afghan president, as part of a new American approach to Afghanistan that will put more emphasis on waging war than on development. Jan. 27, 2009 This is not the right approach in a country where development will be the only way to win the war of the ignorant and uneducated.

10. The President today signed an executive order creating a Middle Class Task Force and asked his right hand man, Vice President Joe Biden, to lead it

11. Irritated Obama 'Stares Down' Reporter During Press Corps Visit when a reporter tried to quiz President Obama on Thursday about a lobbyist chosen for a top Defense Department job, the president quickly became agitated. Maybe not so cool after all.

Polling Point Question and My Answer

Why do you think young people are increasingly engaging in “adult” behaviors like sex and drinking? How big of a problem is this?

It is a great problem. Our children do not know how to care for themselves. They are bored, unchallenged, lack ambition and integrity. Young people should have to work for a higher education not to be given grants and loans. Young people should have to work from the age of 13 at an afternoon job or chores around the house. They need to be taught values and how to earn their life. What is given is of little value, what is earned is of great value.

What is ACORN?

Who is ACORN?

I first heard of ACORN during audits of lending policies and practices between two merged banks. I learned that ACORN was similar to CRA, (Community Re-investment Act), a Congress mandated regulation between banks and communities to re-invest profits back into the communities where the banks operated. It was to help good customers, living in depressed areas, obtain favorable loans to rehabilitate their homes and small businesses.

ACORN is described as: ACORN Housing provides mortgage loan counseling, first-time home buyer classes, and helps clients obtain affordable mortgages through unique lending partnerships. They even set up their own lending institution as a non-profit mortgage brokerage with CitiMortgage, Bank of America, First American Title Insurance Company, and Fannie Mae to help low- and moderate-income families find safe, affordable mortgages.

So when I heard about ACORN and voter fraud, I was a bit confused. Why would a mortgage broker be involved with voter registration? Remember no good deed goes unpunished. Of course this early example of wealth re-distribution would have a liberal foundation and why not take advantage of your benevolent presence in the community by signing up voters to support the party that took all the credit for these low-income programs? Yes, the Dems. What other party does more to take so much from the middle class and give so little to the poor and lazy?

Yes, ACORN now receives large sums of money from the taxpayers, thanks to O'bama, Pelosi, Franks, Reid, Dodd, etc, to operate bipartisan (Ha Ha, you mean democrat) voter registration organizations. They even tried to include this bunch of crooks in the $700 billion bailout until John McCain stood up for the House Republicans. Lord help this country when O'bama, Pelosi and Reid are in charge. And just think of the liberal judges they will appoint to the Supreme Court in 8 long years, or longer if you listen closely to what O'bama says.

How did Palin do?

How did Palin do? She was great on presentation and she held her own on content. However, you cannot expect a first term Governor to be able to throw out the well-orchestrated misleading inaccuracies of a 35-year Congressman like Joe Biden. She sounded fresh, home spun and honest. But to special interests and all the pseudo elite intellectuals she will remain ‘White Trash’.

I cannot see how John McCain will be able to pull this election off; given the level that greed has permeated into our culture. We the people are gladly accepting the blame of the Bush Administration and the Republicans in lieu of all the documented proof that it should be attributed to the mortgage welfare programs of Fannie, Freddie and Acorn supported by the Democrats. Palin nailed it when she said that we the people own a bit of the blame with our ... “Buy now pay later with imaginary equity money”.

We are headed for very hard times. Prepare yourselves for high unemployment, high inflation, and no money to fund economic, educational, or health care welfare.

Check out this weeks Charles Krauthammer Washington Post article, "Hail Mary vs Cool Barry".

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/10/02/AR2008100203043.html

Rice to meet with Muammar Gaddafi

With so much history happening right before our eyes, please do not miss this historic event: US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice is in Libya to meet with Muammar Gaddafi. While our President Bush continues to take a beating on the Iraq military action, taken to protect US interests and free a suppressed people, we are now seeing unexpected results. Libya was once considered to one of the longest hostile relationships with the US, apart from Cuba and North Korea. This is an incredible turnaround.

I encourage you to visit the BBC News website and read the articles posted this morning.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/

Democracy

I never cease to be amazed by the rhetoric of a politician. They make so many promises that history has taught us that they either cannot or never intended to keep. But the masses still want to believe that they will deliver. Does anyone ever connect the dots to a road map on how the promises are to be accomplished, or what impact there will be if the promises are fulfilled?

Usually when you make a promise to one, it is at the cost of another. Such as, I am going to give you something you do not have, in hopes it will give you a better life and therefore make you a better person. However, I must take it from someone who worked hard for it, but then they are already a good person and I am sure they will just work a little harder. What ensues is a deep quest for knowledge and understanding of the application of biblical law and tradition to secular life. This includes telling the truth, not coveting, multiplying, and even stoning adulterers (with hilarious results). The tone of the book is respectful, inquisitive, and follows the Dennis Prager law of "first tell the truth, and then give your opinion". I won't give away too much, but the rule of cognitive dissonance does hold sway. I got a Borders gift card from my grandmother for my birthday, and I finally got around to using it. After walking around aimlessly for a while I came across this book in the "recommended by staff" section, and haven't put it down.

Krauthammer article mentioned by Dennis 2/15/08

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/02/14/AR2008021403105.html?referrer=emailarticle

what is a " true conservative"?

I'm very much looking forward to discussing this. Although limited in numbers, we were not limited in spirited discussion. With the elections so close, one of the topics, of course, was the candidates. We discussed the ‘Change Agenda’ of Obama, the inevitability of a Clinon nomination. At the time of our meeting, we had a wide range of Republican candidates as well. I am sure we will all find the results of ‘Super Tuesday’ interesting.

The other major topic of discussion was, ‘Cheating: can it ever be moral?’ This was a recent Dennis Prager topic and I believe our discussion was lively as the one with Dennis and his callers.

The final topic we discussed was the meetings. With over 40 members listed, we have never had more than a 25% attendance. Considering that our members are from Grass Valley to Vacaville to Lodi having a meeting to include everyone may not be realistic. It has been suggested that we consider breaking out into smaller groups with meetings more strategically located. We have tried to have monthly meetings, but maybe every other month would be easier. I believe Bob is looking for suggestions to help make our listener meetings interesting for everyone. Please use this Blog to offer your ideas.

Thanks!

I learned from a recent WebMD newsletter that coming soon to a market near you, meat and milk from cloned animals and probably without disclosure labels. Labels will equal higher cost for products from cloned animals and even higher for products from non-cloned animals. What issues or concerns, if any, should be considered?

From the article:
FDA: Meat of Cloned Animals Safe to EatAgency Says Milk and Meat From Clones Pose No Risks to Humans
The FDA concluded last month that meat and milk from cloned animals is safe for human consumption, clearing the way for clones to enter the U.S. food supply. The much-anticipated decision was the culmination of years of review by the agency, which has been investigating whether cloning puts animals at risk of genetic changes that could be dangerous if consumed by humans.

Labeling Controversy

Joseph Mendelson, legal director of the consumer watchdog group Center for Food Safety, says his group and others would now shift part of their focus to requiring producers to label meat and milk from cloned parents. "Labeling is going to be a big fight," he says.
Karen Batra, the cattlemen's association spokeswoman, says her industry would oppose labels drawing a distinction between traditional meat and meat from cloned sources. "The science says there is no difference between the two, and it's perfectly safe, and it doesn't need to be labeled," she says.
Stephen Sundlof, the director of the FDA's Center of Food Safety and Applied Nutrition, says the agency did not intend to label cloned products on grocery store shelves. "The FDA does not require labeling if there are no food safety issues."

No Dennis on Meet-up?

Hey, I'm totally confused! He is former CIA and discusses our relationship with Saudi Arabia. My brother is not a President Bush fan, far from it. But he is, at last, willing to discuss our role in the Middle East. He sent me an old interview with Robert Baer and I found it to be interesting. This is my response after reading the article.

Robert Baer, Former CIA Case Officer and Author of "Sleeping with the Devil: How Washington Sold Our Soul for Saudi Crude." -.

It gives insight as to why we are in Iraq. This article is old and a lot has happened since it was written. Considering we are actually fighting an influx of Saudis there it appears that we are confronting the Wahhabi terrorists in a region that has a low impact on our economy. We are truly dependent on the Saudi oil and we need to preserve the huge deposits of Saudi wealth that is deferring a recession. We are slowly following a strategy that has probably been established for longer than a few political administrations. Each allowed to tweak it a bit, but until President Bush there has been little change.

Bush has us waging the war on terrorism, while negotiating a land mind of countries hell bent on destruction. Is it for oil? YES! We the people, may say we do not want to fight for Oil, but where would we be without it? You know we could take an old testament biblical approach, go in and remove all the governments, ... just take over. But in doing so, we could set off the long avoided nucular event, at least three countries in the region have nucular weapons. [India, Pakistan and Israel, soon maybe Iran]. We would probably destroy the very oil fields we are trying to protect and an entire ethic people would be annihilated or very nearly.

This is what it means to be an American in today's world. Remember, they hate us because we are the richest, the strongest, and the most charitable. They hate our charity because it diminishes their view of themselves. But, how would we fare in a world dominated by the Islamic Fundamentalist, or the Russians, or the French, or the etc.? We owe it to the World, and ourselves, to stay strong. The alternative is not acceptable. Am I missing something? The real question is who will take the reigns for the next 4-8 years? Someone who will keep us strong or someone who will bury our heads in the sand and wait for the enemy to come to us?

Baseball, Dennis and the French

Visit http://baseballdennisandthefrench.com/home.html

Paul Croshaw was on Dennis' show recently talking about the documentary he's making about Dennis. She was able to spend two days at the resort area, Kumgangsan, which in English means “Diamond Mountain”. In 1998 the area was opened up to promote a new era of inter-Korean reconciliation, and to provide foreign currency for the Pyong-yang regime.
In our meeting, Don Simms mentioned that visiting only Diamond Mountain, would be like an overseas tourist coming to the U.S. and visiting Disney Land. My wife agreed, but later commented it would be more like visiting Yosemite. Although my wife wasn't able to visit much of the “real” North Korea, she did get a glimpse into what life is like inside the “Hermit Kingdom”.
To visit North Korea a tourist must not bring: cell phones, radios, recording devices, notebook computers, cameras with telephoto lenses of more than 160mm, and Bibles or religious items of any kind. In addition you must not photograph military facilities or staff, or residents. Plus you must not discuss politics, economics, or other sensitive subjects. And especially you mustn't pray or chant.
( I read an article on the internet about a group of Buddhists who were fined U.S.$1,000 for chanting while visiting Kumgangsan..)
On her bus trip to Kumgansan, my wife noticed that nearly everywhere there was a group of people, there was a North Korean guard keeping an eye on things; a small group of people gathering straw, students marching in a school yard. Guards everywhere, even at rural highway intersections.
In addition to my wife's presentation we also discussed, “How to talk to people who disagree with you.”
Don mentioned that he was reading one of Ann Colter's books where she suggests, “Don't bother.”
We didn't spend much more time on that subject. Perhaps if there would have been more people attending the meeting, there would have been personal testimonies of how they talk with people who disagree with them. On our drive back home, my wife mentioned how she once quoted Thomas Sowell to one of her liberal friends concerning his opposition to affirmative action. Her friend was rather dumbfounded that a black person would be against affirmative action, and didn't have much to say about the subject after that.
December 9th my wife and I traveled to San Francisco to attend the inaugural meeting of the S.F. Area Dennis Prager Listeners' Group, which was held at San Francisco's Temple Emanu-El.. There were 35 people in attendance. Organizer Andy Dreisch showed a short Power Point presentation about Dennis and his radio show, and then members of the audience talked about what they like about Dennis' show, and how long they've been listening to him. Many in the audience listened to Dennis when they lived in L.A., and had been fans of his show for some time. For some photos of the event visit: http://ontheradio.meetup.com/2/photos/?photoAlbumId=262274&photoId=2757257
After the meeting, most of us attended the forum on the Middle East ,“Dangerous Times in a Dangerous Neighborhood”, held also at The Temple Emanu-El. The Temple was truly a magnificent sight to see, and a great venue to watch Dennis at his best as he, Mona Charen, John Podhoretz, and moderator Michael Medved discussed the situation in the Middle East. More information about the event can be found at :http://noevalley.googlepages.com/jewishpolicy and http://www.jewishpolicycenter.org/article/83
It was great to meet other Prager fans and to attend the forum that evening. To meet Dennis in person would have been special but the trip was definitely worth it.
Our next meeting is scheduled for January 10 at the usual location. If anyone has any suggestions, comments or questions please email me. We currently have over 30 members of the Sacramento Prager Listeners' Group and we're pretty spread out. The organizer of The Philadelphia Listeners' Group recently phoned Dennis' show and commented that there was to be seven separate meetings throughout the Philadelphia area that evening. We now have members in Yuba City, Grass Valley, Woodland and as far south as Turlock. Perhaps we should split up and have some localized meetings. Again please let me know what you think, and if you're willing to host a meeting.
Indoctrinate-u.com website is back up after being shut down because of a potential lawsuit. Visit the website if you haven't recently. At school I'm surrounded by gamers. nerds. geeks. dorks. People who live by the great philosopher Peter Griffin, the messiah Neo, the cult of the Rebel Force, the prophet Kevin Smith. They are completely engrossed in what they legitimize as an underground culture, yet they hate with a vicious venomous passion anybody who dares call themselves Christian.
The bible teaches that a virtuous walk is never easy, the closer you get to Christ the more the Devil will try to bring you back to sin. Through this strife and struggle, you will be forged into being a better person. People will be able to recognize this change, this difference. Some will be inspired by it, amazed by it, others will feel threatened by it.
At my school these others aren't hard to identify. They're usually overweight, loud, vulgar, and unable to focus or follow directions. They feel that they're not only among the smartest people alive, but among the smartest who have ever lived. They believe America is a dictatorship and that religion is a plague. These are my peers. My generation. The people I'm forced to work with not only now, but also in the industry I'm trying so hard to be a part of.
Not only are the majority of the students in lock step with this mindset, but even the instructors are intellectually self-crippled by what they believe to be the unseen forces. A computer programming teacher hands out material used to show the process of event oriented programming, by relating it to how the entire news media is dissected by a government run filter before it's allowed on television and in print. Another teacher feels disgusted when he says 'Department of Homeland Security' because he feels that the word 'Homeland' sounds too much like 'Motherland', and therefore the entire concept reeks of Communism. On the wall a student tapes downloaded pictures of President Bush and Vice President Cheney surrounded by satanic symbols, and instructor and student alike ponder and reflect on the exhibit, praising it on it's use of design theories like symmetry, continuation, and isomorphic correspondence.
The bible says Deliver us from evil, not Deliver us through evil. In todays intrusive society, there is not option to "keep from", the only option given is "through". As this astonishing ritual of self importance plays itself out in the hallways, I can't help but be overwhelmed by the possibility that the institution is counter-productive to my education.
On Sunday morning as I lie on a couch in the youth room and sketch storyboards in my notebook before the group meets, I wonder what kind of generation the younger kids are going to grow up into. I wasn't born a Christian, infact I've only been trying to follow the word in the past two years. I envy the ones who grew up in a Christian home, learned core values from talking vegetables, went to private schools where the Ten Commandments are etched in marble on the campus lawn, and are stronger than I when it comes to having to endure the filth of society while still trying to hold true to the faith.
During service the youth group performs a drama, which includes a reinaction of the Columbine massacre, where Christian students were forced at gunpoint to denounce Jesus or else be executed, and the few courageous souls who chose the latter, and tears swell up in my eyes. I think about those students who were delivered through evil, and my own moral struggles seem so bearable by comparison.
What makes my moral struggles and pursuit of happiness so much more bearable are my newfound Christian friends, and listening to incredible intellectual and moral theologians such as Dennis Prager and Micheal Medved. I put the show on my iPod and listen to it while I jog in the mornings, so that I feel physically and intellectually energized to face the challenges of the day.
Well, thanks for reading my personal rant, I certainly have my own opinions on macro issues, like the creeping anti-nationalism among the liberal left, the national ADD when it comes to terrorism and the realities of war, and the greatness of America, especially when compared to the terrible state of the rest of the world. I hope to post more whenever I'm not so incredibly busy with school and getting a production studio off the ground, so you can expect to suffer more in following posts.

-Daniel

December Meeting

I hope everyone had a blessed Thanksgiving. I also hope you had a chance to listen to Dennis's Thanksgiving show.

I'm sure many of you had to bite your tongues in order to keep the peace at your family gatherings. I had to. Which brings me to an idea about a topic for our meeting Dec. 6.

The Minnesota Group took a pol of what topics they would like to discuss at their next meeting. Which also happens to be Dec. 6. The top vote getting topic was: "How to talk to those who disagree. " Perhaps that would be a good topic for our next meeting. What do you think?

I'm pleased to announce that we have four new members. Welcome, Hope, Keith, Daniel, and
Scott. Hope you can make it to the meeting Dec. 6.

My wife and I plan to attend the "Bay Area Listener's Group" first meeting Dec. 9, along with the Middle East forum to follow at the Jewish Policy Center in S.F. Could this lead to the end of therapeutic cloning, in which DNA is inserted into an unfertilized egg? Just think of the millions of dollars that have been spent over the past decade on fetal stem cell research that has yielded no results. Wilmut now believes that a rival method, creating stem cells from skin fragments, is more promising.
This is good news for the pro-life minded, helps eliminate the appearance of a moral argument in support of abortion. However, this may have little impact on reducing the numbers. Focus should be directed at the woman having this invasive procedure and of the potential adverse impact to her long-term health. I believe that the research tying breast cancer to aborted pregnancies may be significant.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/7099758.stm

Global Warming:
UN panel give dire warming forcast. http://www6.comcast.net/news/articles/world/2007/11/16/Climate.Change.Conference/

I can hardly wait to hear Dennis' comments.

Some photos of the inaugural meeting:

Our Mission Statement

Ray brought up the idea of a "Mission Statement" for the group. At least we weren't "The Pit Bull Owners Group", or something like that. Mary Jane and her husband Ray graciously opened up their home for our inaugural meeting. M.J. would later joke to the group "I made sure I didn't put out the good silverware."
The meeting was attended by twelve "Friends of Dennis". We introduced ourselves, spoke about what we'd like the group to do, and offered suggestions for our next meeting in December. One of the main suggestions made was that we should offer topics that people would like discussed. The topics with the most interest would set the agenda for our next meeting. Other suggestions were to have a mission statement, and the possibility of involvement in some community event.
I felt our meeting went very well. It was truly a delight to meet with fellow "Kindred Spirits'". Hopefully everyone else also had a good experience. Please comment.
I'm planning our next meeting for Dec. 6th at the Johansens. My wife will join me, and I'm hoping she can give a short talk on her brief trip into North Korea that she took recently.
Dec. 9th The S. F. Area Prager group will have their first meeting in San Francisco. Best of all, Dennis and Michael Medved will also be in S.F. that day for a forum on The Middle East. See: http://ontheradio.meetup.com/2/?gj=sj10 for details. We're invited to attend. Anyone interested?
The Minneapolis Prager group has over 60 members already. No small feat in liberal Minnesota. Although my grandfather was a staunch Minnesota Republican. This former long-haired-hippy-freak from California didn't appreciate his political wisdom until later in life. You can visit the Minneapolis blog@ www.mnprager.blogspot.com.
Evan Maloney the director of Indoctrinate-U has been threatend with a lawsuit from a major university regarding his expose' of americas college campuses. If you try to visit his website: indoctrinateu.com you'll only see an explanation about why he took down the site. You can still get on his email list if you request it. Now, the mayor of San Francisco will show him how it is done.

Next week, he will sign into law, the availability of an identification card, which for all intents and purposes, will enable an illegal to become a resident of the State of California. With this ID card, they will be able to open bank accounts, apply for loans, probably obtain the elusive driver’s license and ultimately vote for Mr. Newsom who evidently has political ambitions.
As a concerned citizen of the State of California I resent this action of the Mayor of San Francisco, with the endorsement of Police Commissioner, Joe Alioto Veronese, [Your World with Neil Cavuto, 11-15-07]. I believe that this action will potentially impact the entire state and should not be allowed. I have written my concerns to the SFMayor and to the Office of the Police Commission.
